Mizen to Malin Challenge for Jigsaw 2016 7/Jul/2016

Next week Four Masters clubmen Robert Kavanagh and Wesley Moore along with North Pole's Cathal Wilson are heading for Mizen Head to attempt a 2 day cycle from one end of the country to the other in aid of Jigsaw Donegal. In the previous 2 years they have completed both 4 and 3 day cycles and are now geared up to complete it in 2 days. This year they are supported by Top Oil, Right Price Cars, McGinley Motors, McDonalds and Dry Arch Complex.

They plan to leave Mizen Head at 6am on Friday 15th July, heading to the overnight stop in Athlone, approximately 210 miles, passing through Dunmanway, Coachford, Mallow, Kilmallock, Limerick, Borrisokane and Ferbane. They are hoping to complete this leg in 14 hours.

Day 2 involves leaving Athlone after 6am travelling through Ballymahon, Longford, Mohill, Ballinamore, Swanlinbar, Enniskillen, Castlederg, Lifford, Buncrana and Clonmany which is approximately 180 miles and about 13 hours of cycling including food stops.

They have raised over €10000 in each of the previous 2 years for Jigsaw Donegal and hope to get close to that figure again this year. The final fundraisers are taking place this weekend (9th &10th July) which involve a car wash at George Sweeneys and a book sale in St Mary's Hall in Burt. All riders have been packing in the miles over the last few months, with the slowest rider spotted testing lights over the last week. Hoping for good weather and a safe run up from Mizen.
