Callaghan wins A4 race in Burt 17/Mar/2019

Fergus Callaghan got his season off to a good start when he won the A4 race at the St Patrick's Day Races hosted by North Pole CC. Always an ever present near the front of the bunch, Fergus helped to force the pace for the 55km race and kept enough in reserve to win the bunch sprint at the finish. Also in the top 10 in the A4 edition were Ardal McDermott who finished 5th following his good showing from the previous year. Darren Sheridan rode well to finish in the lead bunch of the same race. Kevin McGavigan was contesting the sprint finish when he took a spill today and was taken to hospital, where a broken hip was confirmed. We wish him a speedy recovery but will be off the bike for the remainder of the season. In the A1,2,3 race our lads finished in the bunch in a race that was won by Ronan McLaughlin. Well done to all who competed and to North Pole CC for hosting a great event today.
